The client had initially requested a standard Fire Tablet, however we wer given the opportunity to create an animated execution for her and take advantage of the many details in the cover art like the candle flames, the fireflies, and most importantly: The Cat.

For this execution the client wanted to s what we could come up with, creatively speaking, so we came up with the idea of burying the book in sand, playing off the fact this is a mermaid story. The entire environment was built from scratch, the animation was meant to enhance the idea that the book was underwater.

We had complete freedom over this particular concept, given the art we chose to use an ink-drop style reveal for the actual cover art and have it translate to the title as well.

The client had very little instructions for this creative, so we proposed animating the snakes on a loop to give the cover art some extra punch and to keep the eye drawn to the screen.
