A poster for Tolerance

A poster for Tolerance. (2022)
The poster was created as part of a poster competition organised by Graphic Stories, an international conference on Graphic Design and Visual Communication based in Cyprus. The theme for 2022 was tolerance.

"Since the era of the European Enlightenment, tolerance has emerged as a necessary feature for the harmonious coexistence of people and is a consequence of the anthropocentric ideas of freedom, democracy, equality, equity, and the timeless struggles to eliminate all forms of discrimination, social, racial, nationalist, for the freedom of speech and thought."

Living in a small country that is often used to it's own ways, tolerance is the most important value one can have. Whenever meeting someone, who is not "like me" it's important to listen to their story and be there in the moment. My poster got inspired from this exact action - listening. The poster depicts the ears of many different people, who are all listening to the observer and challenges them - will you listen to them? As a token of my own efforts I also placed a picture of my own ear in the poster.

The competition received a total of 1420 entries from 45 countries, from which 50 were chosen for the exhibition that toured in Cyprus, Spain and Greece. I had the pleasure of having my poster exhibited.
I visited the opening of the exhibition in Cyprus and was very excited to see my work.
