ROLE: Conceptualization, Communication Designer, Art Director

The project began with my unconditional penchant for literature. Hence, Hotel Escapa was born! It is a new and upcoming literature-inspired boutique hotel to be built in a less urban area. It’s an escape away from the city and the busy urban lifestyle. The whole concept is almost strictly attached to the idea of privacy. The target audience were book lovers and/or writers who want to have a place to relax, read or write, and have a cup of tea in a quiet little nook. The word Escapa is directly translated from Spanish, Escape, which speaks volumes about the experience that guests will be receiving should they wish to book a room with us.
The concept of the logo came from the idea of just that— you are constantly surrounded by your busy lifestyle and hectic schedule but there is peace and quiet around the hotel name, implying how much creative freedom guests would have. The hotel promises that they won’t bother you unless you need them. The owl in the logo represents wisdom.
Hotel Escapa is all about giving its guests privacy. These are people who just want to be left alone for the most part of the day to either read or write so on the website or as soon as they arrive at the hotel, they can let us know through this form when they are most productive, what they like, and etc. so that we don’t have to bother them during their stay. It’s an additional delight in the experience that they will be receiving in the hotel as we will be putting books from their favourite genres and authors in their room before they even arrive.
Do Not Disturb signs can be written on using chalk. They could write quirky fun things.
The light pattern signifies daytime and the dark pattern signifies night time. This is followed through the different applications. Dark pattern for red wine, light pattern for white wine, dark pattern for bottled water asked during the daytime, and light pattern for bottled water asked during the night time.
