What has been an immensely cathartic process during lockdown has become a familiar outlet for me. I really wanted to draw Hayley because it was coming up on her birthday and then they announced they were coming out of hiatus to release a new album (and tour) this year!

I’ve been using Procreate on an iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil 2 to create these images. What began as a way to enrich the portraits, and corporate work that I was producing has evolved into a practice in discipline, and an enjoyable outlet for the desire in me to create. It also appeals endlessly to the vandal in me.

Part of the process had me importing the files into Photoshop to add texture, and some effects where it was applicable (mosaic pixelations, and some splatter removal). While I had intended for these to go from iPad to upload without becoming cumbersome; there is a certain flair that cannot be ignored in the production process through Photoshop. I’m really happy that I have the ability, and the opportunity to create.
