A surrealist Wooden weather vane, the small dark cube indicates where the wind comes from. It’s mounted on ball bearing for optimal precision.
How to move an egg through minimum 10 meters using a given elastic? The mechanism is made to free the elastic after having used its power so that it don’t make the vehicle automatically run backwards. I was experimenting with Plexiglas at that time so... Here it is.
Representing the four fundamental volumes in metal. It had to be cut in two equal parts and have a kind of hinge which is here the "hook and loop" like adherence of the steel wool. Blueish visual effects where given by heating the surface, oxidizing the steel.
Same as on the previous page. The two parts are here cut in metal planes, they intersect but can’t be separated. The volumes can be read even when in “2D state”.
A set of wooden cutlery. The main point about this set is that it can be used as classic occidental cutlery as well as chopsticks. It’s made of dark cherry wood which is very dense.
A set of metal cutlery. The shape is organic, nearly like bones. The prehension is thus really soft. This is the first version.
Same metal cutlery set, second version. The prehension is enhanced in this version thanks to the hollowing which is also helpful to lighten the objects.
A set of plastic cutlery. This project is designed mainly for fast-foods and travels-kitchen (plane, train, boat...) The main feature is the flatness of the objects during transportation. The common 3 fingers prehension automatically gives volume and strength to this knife, fork and spoon.
Motor oil containers including packaging and graphic design. The goal for me was to communicate great performances but keeping softness as well. The cap is designed to add grip on opening.
Gift pen for Marksman. This project uses an old technique called silver point. The point is virtually everlasting thanks to the very small amount of metal it leaves on the paper. As the point itself is really small the object is mainly transparent.
Industrial design time line through typewriter history. A continuous sheet of paper runs decade by decade through the typewriters, each of which write it’s story. I tried to chose each machine as an icon for its time:
Underwood 3Banks; Underwood 4Banks; Remington Portable; Olivetti ICO; Hermes Baby; Oliver; IBM Selectrics; Olivetti Valentine...
Mobile beer tap for VVB. I decided to go for an inflatable structure and two multi-density polymer plates. The furniture in itself is thus very light and the stability is given by the weight of the necessary internal components. Even the sinks where redesigned as telescopic to make the set take as less space as possible when packed.
Compressible coffee packaging made for the Amcor Flexibles packaging contest 2008. The goal of this project is to have a vacuum like effect when closing the pack thanks to a valve inserted on the cap. The coffee is thus kept in a nearly air free environment that preserves its full flavour.

Note: graphic design not by me, Sambi is an existing brand of coffee
Wiels museum bookshop object on the theme “belgium I remember”. Workshop under the supervision of Jean-François d’Or. I choose to make this bottle opener that keeps caps in mint condition for tourists or collectors to take these so belgian souvenir home. Project is called “Belgium rememBeer”.
New doorbell-reciever set for Chacon. The goal here is to propose new ways of acting on the bell, encouraging people to dose the alert sound depending on the situation, Time or the place. The project was selected to be discussed for production but not yet produced.
A new type of hair dryer. This one is intended to be used hand free if desired. It has a telescopic handle as well as a heavy stand to serve this purpose. The airflow is adjustable by a glide button  that partially closes the opening with a flap.
Pierre Bleu Belge asked to make blue stone inspirational furniture. The making process of this seat is really simple using basic stone cutting tools and there’s no waste. The cuttings continue after the intersections to visually enhance the process, often invisible due to its simplicity.
