The point of this assignment in our Typography class was to discover the individual elements that make a letter recognizable by cropping. How much information can be removed and still communicate the 
letterform?
 

Once we cropped our first letter, we were asked to crop another letter and create a 4-part grid playing with the positive and negative space.

We took it one step further and took our letters into a 9-part grid to further expand on the positive and negative space used.
