The National Space Organization (NSPO) established in 1991, was reorganized into a legal entity under the administration of the National Science and Technology Council, and renamed the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA) in English to give greater international visibility. The Institution would be tasked with the research, development and implementation of space-related plans and technology.

Local Remote partnered with brand consultant Rytass to restructure TASA’s brand architecture and develop a visual identity system that leveraged its new mission. A holistic design system was built to support and respond to the needs of professional fields without shutting people out with high walls, maintaining precision and excellence that considers the public’s level of understanding. The outcome was a new, more succinct, clean and precise approach — removing complexity, improving flexibility and driving equity across Government communications.

To build a cohesive brand ethos, Local Remote designed two custom typefaces, TASA Orbiter and TASA Explorer, inspired by Futura and the characteristic of Neo-Grotesque. More detail will released in the upcoming weeks.
