OPPORTUNITY

Visually describe the word “take” by creating original letterforms and placing them in a fitting environment. 

 

SOLUTION

My approach to the word “take” was based on the idea that once something is taken it cannot always be returned. As children we are taught that if we take something that is not ours it must be given back, but this is can be easier said than done. The letterforms I created have substantial strokes with pointed edges in order to represent the strong effect loss can have on a person. I chose to stage my word with a narrow view of a headstone to allow for a more ambiguous interpretation of loss.
