Redesign a dysfunctional magazine’s cover, table of contents, and a feature spread.

 

SOLUTION

The creators of Women & Guns take great pride in showcasing firearms from a woman’s perspective. They feature everyday women and encourage their readers to share their experiences. With the redesign, I wanted to give an air of simplicity to the layout, while maintaining the relatable content the magazine is known for. The magazine’s original design was cluttered with unprofessional photos and large, overwhelming blocks of text. In order to simplify the layout, I utilized a breathable grid, refined type choices, and large, full-bleed images, along with a new masthead.
