Appetizer: Easy Come Easy Go
Appetizer: Easy Come Easy Go” is a site-specific project held by Gelora Art Group (GAG) at Ruang Respati, a cafe in the north of Yogyakarta. Unlike regular showcases held in cafes, GAG responded the cafe and its elements as part of the exhibition. Besides displaying the original artworks of members, GAG includes the visual of their works on coffee cups, aprons, and cup holders, allowing customers to “purchase” a form of their art. An installation relating to the theme was also constructed using photos of artworks projected on plates on top of a dining table. Appetizer: Easy Come Easy Go is a theme thoroughly thought upon that explores the nature of today’s fast-paced consumption culture.
