In September 2022 I was honored to receive an invitation from the organizer of the World Industrial Design Conference (WIDC) to participate as a keynote speaker at WIDC2022.

WIDC is a global event jointly initiated by design organizations, institutions, businesses and universities from more than 50 countries and regions, supported by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Global Design Industry Organization (GDIO) , organized and hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT), the People's Government of Shandong Province and the China Industrial Design Association (CIDA). It aims to promote the in-depth integration of innovative design with economic and social development worldwide and to facilitate exchanges and collaborations in design between countries and regions.

Since 2016, WIDC has been successfully organized for five sessions. It has become a hub and platform for gathering global design innovation and building the industrial design innovation chain.

WIDC2022 was held on November 18-20 in Yantai, Shandong Province, China. Themed 'Design · Future Industry Chain', it highlighted the essential roles that design plays in the industrial chain towards a better future for humanity. During the conference, the 2022 China Excellent Industrial Design Awards Ceremony & Exhibition (CEID 2022), WIDC Forum, Gala Night of Designers and other activities were included.
