"Bang!" Graphite and Acrylic on Paper
This sketchbook page was an experiment in a free-form approach to the image making process. Pulling a random image out of my subsconcious resulted in the old man with the walker taking form first. From there the rest of the image took shape in response to the other objects around it. Countless abtract markings were placed down in search of interesting shapes, an interesting composition, and an interesting commentary. These smudges of graphite were slowly reworked again and again until they emerged into the final image while layers of acrylic provided the color.
