Military Exchange Program

In 2013, the Singapore Civil Defense Force in collaboration with the Singapore Armed Forces, conducted a deployment to Iraq to exchange military and emergency medical treatment techniques.

I was involved in live military exercises and simulations on how to treat real life war injuries such as gun shot wounds, grenade injuries, amputations and how to evacuate these injured personal via different vehicles such as an army trucks, tanks and helicopters.

It was my first ever deployment and experience in Iraq since being in the Singapore Civil Defense Force.

As part of the program, I had to teach military personnel advance trauma and extraction as well as learn from other country personnel such as US Armed Forces and Iraq Armed Forces.
