Path on water - Urban scenography

This project is a workshop answer in spatial design formation with Gérard Bouché, an architect and
ergonomist at l’École de design Nantes Atlantique. The subject was urban scenography signature
and inscription.

The objective was to select a public place in the town of choice, which had lost the public interest.
The place represented  is located in Nantes, on the island of Nantes. It is a metallic structure built
in 2007 to create an path along the bank of the Loire with a living place.
This suggestion is a design concept which proposes change. The scenographic suggestion for this
space is to create a new space that discoveres geometric structure on water. This structure could
be seen from far, but to reach it, people take a scenographic path on a footbridge. This path is a visual
attack created by a triangular shaped maze of the different sizes. The people short cut or get round
the shape, then they get on the second triangular structure. Out of this shape, a void space is created
to free the space in front of us. A triangular path whose end people look for, is designed on the water.
This shape is strict but unstable by the slim path invits the people to walk on the water and stay linger
for a while. A poetic shape is created between reality and dream.
