ICELAND
Fjallsjökull (Vatnajökull), 2021
IN A SEA OF LIGHT AND ICE
In bright sunlight, a glacier can transform into an almost monochrome world. The unyielding light of the sun reflects off the snow and ice, washing out the landscape and creating a sense of stillness and serenity. Without the distraction of bright colors or harsh shadows, the textures and shapes of the glacier become more pronounced, revealing intricate patterns and details that might otherwise go unnoticed. The absence of color also creates a sense of timelessness - a moment of perfect harmony in a world of ice that is yet so ephemeral and fragile.
