Excuses
What are excuses if not an ineffective explanation of a predetermined decision?
Most decisions are made in a split second, even before we know if we should make them. The rest is up to us. Are we going to be brave and act on these decisions, or are we going to find a way to justify them? Excuses are nothing but a useless wedge that we are trying to push into a crack and justify the pretend gap between us and the target, when in fact, the gap was there in the first place, and the excuse really does not make any difference but make us look and feel good.
This piece demonstrates the uselessness of an excuse. It is a large and impressive wedge indeed, and it can easily split the toughest objects if it were only made from iron, but in fact it is a soft foam excuse for a wedge. As hard as one will push it into a crack, it will have no effect other than to help justify the crack’s existence. The crack was created there and will stay there if no effort will be on their way to fix it.
