Flyer & Map / A Guide to Outside-the-Box Art

A Walking Guide to Outside-the-Box Art leads us on a tour of various artistic objects (by Barbara Kruger, Yoko Ono, Jenny Holzer, Teresa Murak, Maurycy Gomulicki, Lawrence Weiner, Grupa Azorro) that are located – or used to be located – in the immediate vicinity of Ujazdowski Castle. The Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw. All artworks and artistic interventions were arranged chronologically to provide a timeline from the birth of the institution to present day.

The remains of some of these artistic actions can still be found in the park, others remain hidden inside the institution. The map includes three categories of objects – visible, hidden, and ambiguous – marked in different colours. Visible objects are those that we can still see around the park because the artists intentionally placed them there. Hidden objects require entering the Centre for Contemporary Art and are located in non-exhibition spaces – such as the library or the courtyard. Finally, ambiguous objects are those that either no longer exist, or only their traces remain.
