OPPORTUNITY
Redesign an existing product’s packaging to be eco-friendly, have increased functionality, and a greater aesthetic appeal.

SOLUTION
I chose to repackage sports bras. Short of being hung on a hanger, bras generally do not have any form of packaging.  Getting bras on and off hangers can be frustrating to customers and leave bras hanging crooked and visually unappealing. I targeted my repackaging towards athletic, on-the-go women. Each plastic sphere contains three sports bras that are individually wrapped with elastic bands that can double as hair ties. The spheres are durable enough to be reused and thrown in a gym bag or locker. They keep fresh sports bras clean and used sports bras separate from other items.

I wanted a company name that represented the empowerment of women. I decided upon, Jaya, because the word comes from the Indian word for victory. By giving this specialty sports bra its own name, I left room for company expansion for a variety of future products. The product name, Braubles, was inspired by a play on the spherical packaging material and the packaged product itself.
