Re-branding Visual Identity for CIRCA
This re-branding project for the visual identity of the Australian contemporary circus CIRCA encompasses excitement, energy and even a little bit of mystery. CIRCA, performances are more than just tricks and acts. they express diversity in the art of movement and physicality through breath-taking performances that thrill and keep you on the edge of your seat, as movement meets magic. This expression through human form, is the inspiration behind the company’s reimagined brand and logo.

The logo’s red swirl is a symbol of energy and movement, which is present in every CIRCA performance, as the curved lines represent flexibility of the human body. The dissolving texture of the lines represents motion to portray the actions of tumble turning and being thrown into the air. I chose red for the main logo colour, accompanied by a white background, because red is expressive and holds connotations of energy, power and passion, which defines the values of CIRCA entertainment. I used the black CIRCA text because it is simple and effective, and when centred in the swirl, becomes powerful and bold.
