"Dear Diary" is a small pamphlet stitched, bi-fold artist book.
My intention was a bit of crass, lighthearted fun. Like quite a few of the works I've made, this one is a play on an idiom, one better shared with friends than polite company: "He's got his head up his own ass." This old saying is applied colloquially to denote someone's (or one's own) state of idiocy or denial. The use of this idiom as context for a journal enriches the physical joke beyond the category of juvenile humor.
