For the collage I first tried sketches that were inspired by my dreams. However, none of them seemed to work with the concept of surreal enough. I them tried playing around with images in photoshop, seeing what I can come up with. I tried one idea and then decided to try using a night sky photo I took as a background. I continued the concept by having a bird wing and butterflies cut from magazines sit on the star background with their colors set to divided. This made the images translucent and the colors would lighten when the images overlapped giving a unique effect. I continued to add a city street and a whale skeleton. I also added pictures of succulents positioning them to climb the buildings. Overall I still feel there’s room for improvement especially with the color balance of the orange.
