Six On One is a compilation album featuring six of California State East Bay’s Jazz Ensembles on one CD. I was asked to design the packaging for the project within a very short amount of time. In addition, I was restricted to only using the schools colors and was challenged to come up with an interesting typographical solution. Right away I thought of my favorite jazz label Blue Note. Not only for the phenomenal jazz records they put out, but for, in my opinion, the best jazz album covers around. For this project I attempted to create my interpretation of a Blue Note album cover. Luckily the client shared my love for the label and was happy with the solution I came up with.
