The Slave Trade is the capturing, selling, and purchasing of enslaved people. Black women and children are sold into sex slavery for prostitution. In the transatlantic slave trade, 10-12 million enslaved people were transported globally across the ocean. Some would be marked by slave masters with a barcode across a body part to represent their ownership.
The sale of slaves, still occur in modern day through international human trafficking. The 3 main categories are sex trafficking, forced labor, and debt bondage. It has a revenue of about $32 billion and more than 27 million are enslaved today internationally & domestically.
