Western Railway - Travelling in time

Western Railway has heaps of documentation, but no real celebration of its immense architectural heritage. They approached us to produce a coffee table book which could tell the story of their beautiful headquarters, their old bungalows, heritage routes, and magnificent stations.
'Travelling in time' is a dreamy discovery of these beautiful, often surprising spaces.
Written as a winding walk through offices, stations and bungalows, the narrative addresses the reader directly, inviting them into the world of the Indian Railways in the late 1800s. The pages flip through decades, sometimes centuries, recalling anecdotes and drawing attention to carvings and headstones.
More than anything else, the book reveals that the custodians of this massive architectural heritage are very conscious of its value. It was a great pleasure to be able to situate historical artefacts like Bandra (W) station in context of the 21st century; especially because even though it is more than 120 years old, the building is neither out of style nor does it make functional upgrades an impossibility.
