Computer Art & Animation Senior Show Posters

Client: Syracuse University, academic project

Role: Art Director, Graphic Designer

Project: Poster designs of two different student shows for the Computer Art & Animation major at Syracuse University. For variety, each poster design was created in two color palettes.
The first poster design is for the Computer Art & Animation Show. This exhibit featured all the new and best work by students in the undergraduate and graduate program that had been completed in 2014.
The second poster design is for the BFA in Computer Art & Animation show. This event was both a screening and exhibition of the final projects of the seniors achieving a BFA in the Computer Art & Animation major, Class of 2014.

Task: To design posters for both Computer Art & Animation end-of-year shows.
Since the students of this major are so varied in their work, I decided to not make the poster designs specific to any kind of medium such as video game design, character design, 2D animation, 3D animation, stop-motion animation, electronics design, coding, VFX, sound/music design, etc. I wanted to make this set of posters more type-focused and simplistic with hints to the use of graphics, design and color in this major. I was looking for minimalist designs to create contrast to the vivid and colorful work that would be seen at each event. I also created each poster design in two different color palettes for variety.
