BATTLE TAPES: IF ONLY LYRIC VIDEO
Unused lyric video for Battle Tapes' single, If Only.
In May 2021, I was asked by Josh Boardman of LA-based synth-rock band Battle Tapes to create some stuff for their new single, If Only. In addition to the music video we made with Naz Massaro, I was asked to create a lyric video to come out first.
Josh gave me one rule: Helvetica Neue only.
I had three tools: After Effects for simple text animations, OBS for a feedback loop vortex on the solo and as always, my Tachyons+ Dreamweapon for creating analogue glitches that tear through typography and add furious bursts of colour.
