RTP (Rádio e Televisão de Portugal) is the Portuguese public service broadcasting organization. It runs four national television channels and three national radio stations. As well as several satellites and cable offerings. They challenged Itsanashow Studio to develop a new visual identity for every newscast program.

THE CHALLENGE
This new identity should mirror the company's new strategy — forward-looking, dynamic, and youthful.

It had to make the operators' daily routine easier and in line with the channel's visual identity.

AUGMENTED REALITY

THE SOLUTION

Using color and light - as the elements that help to highlight the ledwalls on the set - we created contrasted backgrounds without being distracting. Thus maintaining the minimalism and sobriety present in this new identity.

For RTP1, the most general and popular channel, we included more recognizable elements from the opening, such as

the map with Portugal at its epicenter, communicating with the world.

Color takes on a subtle additional role by invoking the passage of the day, changing from a “morning” color to dusk.

For RTP3 we tried to add depth to the set, also due to its characteristics, through light that breaks the geometric shapes giving it volume, depth and at the same time helping to create a harmonious final composition with the inclusion

of the news anchor.

Here too, the color evokes the passage of the day changing from a “morning” color to dusk.

For 360, being a nightly news program with a deeper analysis on current events and several guests, we tried to give it

a distinctive character, both through the cut on color and the elegant sobriety of the graphic elements.
