Inspired by the house where me and my friends used to meet every saturday.
This typical house from the north of Portugal was located next to the river. The walls were of granite, the furniture was rustic, the decorative objects had organic shapes and the lightining was very warm. All this elements conveyed a sense of calm and confort in a perfect balance.
The idea behind this project was to explore the need of surface texture in a time characterized by an overstated minimalism in the design panorama. This thought was reproduced by sectioning the teapot in two parts. The terracotta part acts as a minimalist design aproach while the white clay acts as a protective layer, with an organic texture worked by hand with a stone.
