NBL1 is my graduate school project at the University of Oregon Sports Product Management. Working with a team of five other members, we enthusiastically landed on creating a trail running shoe.

This project entailed the entire product business life-cycle of a running shoe: early-stage research all the way through a final product launch. 

I contributed not only to product design and development, but also was involved in consumer research, branding, marketing, PLM, costing, and more. I am grateful for my team GAEA (named after the goddess of Earth) and this project would not have come to fruition without them. (Thank you Kylee, Zach, Corey, Jamison, and Ivan!)

TREAD LIGHTLY ON THE PLANET NO MATTER THE TRAIL

The GAEA NBL1 trail running shoe features a supportive ankle collar and a 360-degree responsive mudguard for a heightened sense of stability. This shoe helps you adapt to any conditions Mother Nature has in store. This shoe features ankle support, traction, and minimized lateral movement.

I grew up creating with a pencil and brush, so the fastest way for me to express my ideas is sketching by hand.

However, 3D design and prototyping are the current industry trends. I just start to learn and explore 3D tools to more deeply understand current standards and to better share the breadth of my designs and make the prototyping process more effective.

As a way to further develop my own skillset and interest in 3D design and animation, I produced a commercial for NBL1 showcasing the concepts I was thinking through during the shoe's design process.
