Publishing house Unicorn Press required a brand new book design for two sets of text by famous author H.E. Bates.
 
Having acquired the rights to the text they wanted to reinvigorate the stories and present them in a contemporary yet refined style, that appealed to a wide range of readers than had not been targeted previously.

Shaping internal text around illustrations by C.F. Tunnicliffe, using illustrative icons for chapter headers, and having a delicate colour palette on the patterned cover, all helped to create a sophisticated appearance that spoke of the classic nature of the content and allowed the imagery and text to balance cohesively.
