With the hectic lifestyle we live today, we are eating out more and cooking less.
With the hectic lifestyle we live today, we are eating out more and cooking less.
We wanted to bring people into the world behind the hawker storefront, we may order from them every day, but do we truly truly stop to appreciate the efforts they put into their culinary craft, to feed us - who are practically strangers.
We hope that through this observational documentary, we may be able to touch the viewers hearts a little, to let them empathise with the amount of painstaking effort behind every bowl ordered, to take some time to simply smile and thank them.
At the time of posting this, the canteen has been reconstructed and Mr Zhang has retired, but this video allows me to fondly reminisce this memory of my student days.
Mr Zhang, thank you for your many years of service! Serving up piping meals and warming the hearts of many students and staff of NUS!
