Le Faux Macaron Baking Co. is a (faux) bakery chain with multiple locations in Canada, the US and Europe. Le Faux Macaron is all about taking away the inaccessible nature of modern fancy french bakeries, and getting back to the humble beginnings while still offering high-end products. I was inspired by online food blogs, and their style of food photography, and how “do-it-yourself” the overall feel was. I wanted to go for a more rustic, yet modern look. The design of the annual report is less corperate, since the actual company is a relatively small one, and reflects the nature of the bakery itself. The book is spiral bound, with the cover hiding the wire. The orientation is horizontal with tabs on the top, which was inspired by the shape of recipe cards - another homage to the essence of Le Faux Macaron.
