2d game - pixel art project

About the project
This project was created as part of the 2d art II class in Polytechnic university of Leiria. The idea was to create a 2d pixel art game consisting of 3 levels and 3 characters - each made by one of the team members. The setting we chose is a mysterious harbour in a town built on wooden bridges and columns that keep it above the water. Our story follows a female pirate arriving in this town carrying an illegal package with dangerous chemicals for the Innkeeper to use in his experiments happening just above the unsuspecting customers in his tavern. My level focuses on the start of the story and includes the pirate character in the harbour.

The idea of the level is for the pirate to jump from boat to boat and then onto the platforms of the harbour itself. The player should avoid falling into the sea or running into guards. Along the way the character needs to collect all the potions, needed for the experiment and an important element for the story, as well as coins and jewels since she can't go against her pirate nature to gather as much gold as possible. The level starts with a pirate ship and ends with the tavern which signifies the beginning of the next level and the next part of the storyline.
