MyClimb Mobile App • Product Design Case Study

My Role

I led a core team of 2 designers, in a team with support from internal developers, PO, and CEO.
During this period I led all facets of design including highlighting the problem, hypothesis, hypothesis testing methods, problem information architecture, control of metrics and measurement of results, user task flows, interaction, visual, product, and prototyping. I also conducted user interviews, and surveys.

Problem

The main feature of the app is tracking the activity in the climbing gym.
Because of the lockdown (COVID19), all gyms were closed.
Engagement rates in the app have dropped significantly compared to the previous period.
There was a need to create new functionality that will help keep users in the app.

Hypotheses & Ideas

I have conducted surveys of MyClimb users. It helped to find out how users are ready to use the app during the lockdown period. With the team, we have highlighted several ideas and hypotheses.
To prioritize ideas we took into account engagement metrics and implementation complexity. Used method "Impact/ Effort matrix".
Then we took the main hypothesis for testing.
