In this final project of ours, we are acquire to go through three stages in order to finish it. The stages are:

1. Create an Alter Ego

2. Create an item that would aid in your alter ego's mission/goal (keep in mind the era/year our alter ego are in)

3. Use a media to recreate this item

So, the final result from this project is showing the interface design of the item that had been recreated by a certain media. Let's go through the stages one by one.

Please keep in mind that magic is real and exist in the era I have chosen for my alter ego. And the item recreation is imaginative.

The Art of Simple Defensive Magic - A Book all about Defensive Magic

Objectives

This book contained the art of simple and safe white defensive magic spells that can be cast by the low level of magic users and even commoners who believe in magic enough in order for the spells to work.

This book is meant to educate the magic users defensive spells that could help them and also allow them to learn how to properly handle magic with safer ones before they are allowed to move up a level and handle more complicated one.

For the commoner, this book served the purpose of teaching them defensive spells for self-protection and also creates awareness of the white and dark magic.

The Art of Simple Defensive Magic also taught how to infuse spells into gems to make protection and defensive charms for all.

How it helps the alter ego

Even though it has been quite a peaceful time in the Victorian era, there are wars, dangerous jobs and bad guys around. It is important to keep our sense sharp for anything wrong and to keep ourselves safe. We never know what would happen at any time.

Azure Praesto, as an assassin, had to keep her real identity and herself safe from unwanted enemies that she could have made unintentionally after each and every request she had done. She was not a born magic user, but as a commoner, she would be able to cast protective spells on her own with this book’s help.

Why as a Book in the original era

This was taken place during the Victorian Era (1837 – 1901) where the electricity wasn’t discovered until around mid-Victorian Era. There were only a few media back at that time, and those media are: newspaper, book, posters, magazine, and radio. Television hasn’t been invented. These are known as old media, which majorities are traditional printed media.

The media I have chosen for the idea is through a book. Magic users; wizards, witches and many others wrote down spells on the manuscript and grimoires for so many centuries. So, choosing books as the delivery of defensive magic spells is the best choice as newspaper, posters and magazine spread information to a large area openly, it wouldn’t be wise for magic topic to be spoken so casually because it could be mistaken as dark witchcraft.

What Media for the Recreation (for it to be use in the future or current year)

Augmented Reality Technology. This media have been chosen for the recreation of the magic book. However, this book would not use the usual, normal AR, instead it would be an even advanced AR that would provide the user new experience when interacting with the recreated book.

By using a normal-looking eyewear, the user would be able to see the AR on the book. Instead of just been able to see the AR, the users are able to interact with the book to create responses; such as, lighting up the candle on the book by simply tapping on the wick. The AR book would also react to the user's voice commands.

The reason behind such design is in preserve the Victorian Era elements and make the effects and responses from the book to act like how real magic would be. Thus, the effect would seem like magic instead of just computer graphic. The design of the book would consist a lot of illustrations like back in the 19th century.
