Weaving stories - Tapestry
Concept: Being a Tamilian born and bought up in Mumbai, I've only heard stories of the incredibly intricate and colourful temples that have their home in Tamil Nadu.
One such temple that has its beauty and divinity imprinted in my heart and mind, is the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. It is considered to be the most illustrious Vaishnava temples in South India.
The temple, has 21 Gopurams in total, out of which, the Rajagopuram or the main entrance shrine tower, is the tallest temple tower in all of Asia.
My brain, always paints pictures of these gopurams and their colours, in the most majestic and vibrant manner possible. This Tapestry, was my way of painting this incredible tale of colours onto a canvas, made with threads instead of paints.
