A harmonious game shared worldwide, Animal Crossing has given many a way to be creative digitally.
When I thought about the sharing of creativity and what it means to me, Animal Crossing was the first thing that came to mind. Due to the nature of Covid-19, it gave many a way to cope. I did not purchase the game until after I got in a car wreck because I needed something to do. Little did I realize just how important this game would become to me.
What?! A silly little game where you live with animals! I know it sounds a bit ridiculous, but being bound to a chair for 3 months due to my broken knee, I needed some sort of way to communicate with others and be creative outside of constantly looking at my phone.
The game emphasizes communication and collaboration. I get to interact with my friends on a creative level because it allows you to freely design and create a world of your own. We constantly visit each others island and leave cute little gifts.
But what if Animal Crossing is more than a game? Perhaps it is a metaphor for freedom or building a world where you can find comfort and peace.
but alas, in the Animal Crossing world we are still confined to
