Cosmoscow Art Fair

The 10th Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair is a place to discover work of contemporary artists.

Every year, the fair announces a headliner – the artist of the year, whose work, one way or another, should participate in the visual communication of the fair. This year this artist was Valery Chtak. Deliberate carelessness of images, paint streaks, uneven surfaces and edges. Chtak willingly uses a variety of textures, creates paintings on everything possible, repaints, paints over and in a new way. Kraft, oilcloth, wall, ceiling and furniture become the background for many of his images.
We took the same technique of the artist as a basis in graphic design. This year it was the fairs 10th anniversary. At the core, we used graphics and posters from last year's Cosmoscow fairs. We overlapped the images, creating a surface for new relevant information. This active method of layering made it possible to create a single image, despite the diverse background, and to convey the mood and character of the contemporary art fair.

We also transferred the principle of overlapping to navigation and merch, where objects for the fair were created manually, using paint and a roller.
