You've got mail! A new project to work on! I had to make a paper toy that actually works when you put it together. I missed the first class of this project so i missed the whole explanation but i read the instructions and talked to my teachers and they explained it again for me the second lesson and i could start with doing research about the target audience and theme you're going for. Since its halloween i wanted to make something spooky. I made a moodboard and just trew all my ideas together.

I wanted to make a halloween clothing brand for teenagers. I did the target audience age teenagers so i could balance the level of scariness i can put in the design. After i got kind of an idea in my head what it was going to be, i started sketching.

I wrote some words that came to my mind when i think of halloween. When i finished the first page i really liked the spook cat, it really reminded me of Zero from The nightmare before christmas which is one of my favourite movies. On the next page i was making some concepts for the logo. I really liked the first one because it looks kind of like the old retro logo's like All stars (Converse). I added the cat in the middle and some blood on the bottom. The company name i came up with really quickly and to be honest i dont know how. At first i said i dont want any orange or use a pumpkin in my logo because these are the 2 main things you see when you google halloween logo, but i'll tell you later why i changed my mind about that.

Here you see some versions of the digital logo, i was experimenting with the font and thickness. And here is the final design:

I liked it very much but i still felt like i was missing something. A little color. So i went and put 3000 pastel colors on the logo to see what works best.

Together with my teacher and even friends i discussed which color worked best and eventually i gave up and choose orange because it just fits the best i cant help it. So now the logo was done i actually had time over because the deadline wasn't even nearby. So i decided to do something extra. I made a poster for the clothing line.

Now i could start on making the papertoy and of course its going to be the ghost cat. 

I first just started on paper to try and figure out the shapes and it worked. Well kinda, the bottom part was quite hard because its wavy. So to make the shape sharp and clean i modelled it in Blender and got the cutout. 

This is how it looks after doing it with Blender and it looks alot better. I had to put the logo on the papertoy and since there wasn't any reason why it would be on the ghost cat's body i made a platform for him. I also had to make the drawings on the cat so i did that as well and i got...

Ahhh just look at him! The logo is on the bottom of the platform and you can just flip it to the side you like.

I really liked making this even though i was a little bit skeptic at first. Im proud of what i made in such a short time.
