A shoeshine dream
Hi, my name is JJ. I'm just a regular gentleman and one of my goals is to own a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. It's been a dream of mine for many years but I kept making excuses that buying an iconic motorcycle like a Harley was out of my reach and just a luxury purchase for the rich and famous.
I finally made my decision and started working on an action plan on how I could make this a possible reality without breaking my budget's back or swimming in a pool of debt. Hard work and consistency has worked for people in the past why won't it work for me? Life is short so go for it!
I've always enjoyed shoe shining and realised I can use my skill to earn tips by providing a traditional service and slowly start saving for the big dream bike.
I built my own mobile shoe shine footrest, sourced proper supplies, refined my skills and set up shop outside my local barber and started shining and interacting with the community on my off days. I'm in the early stages but things are in motion and I'm determined. Every polish is one step closer to the goal.
Its a humble slow process but I'm enjoying every opportunity I get to shine some boots and share my simple dream. Knowing I'm already on the journey is very satisfying. Even if I never reach my goal of buying a Harley I have truly fallen in love with the art of shoe shining and that already is a victory for me.
I am not sure how this journey is going to unfold but I want to share it with people.
