Pop of Culture
My original focus on this piece was to add a pop of color to traditional black and white photographs. The development of the piece depicts old political leaders from the 1900s in a quirky, fun way. Normally we see these leaders in a very professional manner within society. However, I played with altering professional representation and illustrated them in a comical way. The piece represents a form of political satire that is expressed by how these serious leaders and setting are expressed in a comical way.

Hey Mister
With a combination of Antonio Lopez photography, Andy Warhol’s repetitive style and Roy Lichtenstein’s dot technique this unique pattern creates a Pop Art inspired repeat that is both bold and quirky. The background is a computer print out of grey dots, similar to Lichtenstein’s technique, while the men were hand printed with a carved linoleum stamp on top of pieces of colorful cut-paper.
