For this project we were required to design a piece of flat pack furniture. We had a choice between a magazine rack, a lounge side table or a storage solution. The requirements we had for the design is it could only be 1000mm x 1000mm x 1000mm big and should be entirely self supporting (no glue should be used). To me a big challenge
For my design I was a bit unsure about what I wanted to design. After a few ideas and sketches I decided to design a bookshelf which later became desk organizer, which would be my final product. A few challenges that I had to overcome were the joining methods and the overall sturdiness of my desk organizer. I also tried to keep my design basic and further develop it from there rather than making something extremely complicated. I tried to make the desk organizer aesthetically pleasing whilst making it practical as well.
