Soviet kinetic art

Kinetic art was a striking phenomenon of Soviet art of the 1960s-1970s. It is based on the idea of the movement of a form, and not just the physical movement of an object, but any change in it while the viewer contemplates it. The main representatives of the kinetic art of the Soviet Union were five groups: the Dvizhenie group, the Mir group, the Argo group, the Riga group and the Prometheus group. They worked at the intersection of technology, perception theory and art. This principle of work is widespread even now, especially among representatives of media art.

The project idea is that the five main representative groups are the pillars on which stands the kinetic art, as well as contemporary media art.The pillars in the installation appear as five parallelepipeds with LED screens on two sides. On both sides of the installation, a single content is projected onto all five pillars.

Kinetic typography

The kinetic typography became the basis for the figurative solution of the installation and the entire project. In the installation, a feeling of endless space is created, through which the viewer travels. And the enhanced contrast, the use of noise and textures are reminiscent of the style of the kinetic art manifesto
