The assignment:
The big assignment was to create a game for the Blokhuispoort in Leeuwarden. The game needed to pull in a younger audience to the museum. My part was to create the characters for the game.

My goal for this assignment was to be able to create characters that not only participate in the story, but also tell a stroy with their design.

My approach was first to sketch what they might look like in my mind. Next I made the first illustrations and asked feedback on them. After receiving the feedback, my group and I decided that we would use the game Professor Layton as inspiration for our artstyle. The second illustrated version was in that art style. We asked again for feedback and with that we could make our final versions. Between version 2 and 3 I also managed to make a female version for both characters. In case we wanted to make a choice option for male or female in the game.
