Malayalam Typography

This project features art work that I have made during an advanced typography class. At the begining of the course we were each asked to pick a Vernacular Indian language. I chose to work with Malayalam. I am from Kerala and I can speak Malayalam however, the script was unknown to me. I thought it would be exciting to touch base.
For our assignments we were resticted to using a single typeface, no colour, no images and no illustations. It had to be only the typeface and black on white. For our final assignement however we were allowed to use colour.
