Orizzontale curated an exhibition/platform at Manifattura Tabacchi in Florence to stimulate reflection upon the role of the “village square”. The narrative is articulated through 40 panels, one for each village square. Two models are mixed in the design of the panels: the “board” — a classic tool used by architects, urban planners and landscape architects to illustrate their ideas — and the “poster,” a characteristic object of urban public space. The panels, which become surfaces on which to write and rewrite, are completed by attaching various images to them. They recall and allude to the multiplicity of layers of meaning that characterize every urban space, above all the village square.
