The Galaxy Chronicles
The Galaxy Chronicles was designed for an undergraduate course. In my digital imaging course, we were instructed to create and design a movie poster in that the artist was the titular character. There were multiple different styles of movies layed out in the assignment prompt, but I chose to make a movie based around a series of outer space adventures. In order to achieve this goal, I decided that implementing aspects typically depicted in outer space adventures would be the best course of action. Having various planets, comets, the Milkey Way, and a UFO help create and establish the atmosphere of the movie.
With this piece in particular, it had some growing pains, specifically, the layout, and how it should be presented. I found some old sketches that show examples of how it could've looked as a landscape image or a portrait image.
After this, I initially decided that it would be easier to implement this into a landscape piece as it would allow for more detail, and since it was supposed to be a movie poster, I wanted to capture that feeling of awe.
