Closer Music is a licensed music platform for: artists, film and video makers, creative agencies, production companies and public spaces. 🔊

Closer Music was created to connect business with the world of music, and the world of music with the world of business. It is worth mentioning that the music database is constantly expanding, as Closer Music works with new artists every day. 🎶

Our Work:   Research.
As lovers of good sound, we had a really good time working on the research for this project. 💜 Looking for inspiration and discussing the topic, we came to the conclusion that the Closer Music platform is a niche branch of the music business.

UX/UI desktop & mobile version
Working on the mock-ups showed us which sections will be key for us and which way the website design should go. We wanted the music to play the first violin in the entire project. So we focused on the dark tone of the design, which in our opinion fits perfectly with the theme of the music - it allows you to relax and unwind. 🎹

Two homepage concepts - one goal

We decided to make two concepts for the home page. It was so building for the final project that we were able to confront two really well thought-out projects.

Thanks to this, we knew which one was closer to the initial assumptions and assumed a more interesting interpretation of the concept.

Photographs and their processing

The selection of the right photos was a very important element for us. When choosing the photos, we wanted them to fit the project, reflect the mood and present the process of creating music. 🎧 

Additionally, we retouched selected photos and adjusted their colors to the project.

Typography & color palette

Typography

The method of selecting two fonts had the main goal - to diversify the design while maintaining the comfort of reading. We also wanted to be able to use the fonts in a small size, which allowed us to save space. By maintaining the right balance and making the right choice, the content is clear and balanced.

Colors in the design

Black and white spaces have been broken with purple color, which perfectly accentuates and diversifies the game of black and white. We also added a gray color.

The choice, of course, was not accidental. The inspiration for choosing this color was of course the music!

Let us clarify - both the notes and the noblest instrument that is the piano are black and white. 🎼 🎹

By breaking these colors, we introduced a dark shade of purple that emphasizes the entire project and creates a mood at the same time.

Homepage design

The final concept of the home page combined all the requirements that were discussed with the client and our expectations for this project. 🥁  In our opinion, the minimalist, spatial design with appropriately selected photos perfectly matches the Closer Music concept.

The content widths used in the project are different, because we tried to break the minimalism with an interesting use of the fonts. From research, through UX and UI design, to the final effect, we had the main idea in the back of our heads - the idea of music available to everyone. In each of these stages, we tried to keep the mood and convey the excitement of listening to good music. 🎷

Built-in Player - music directory

Our task was also to create a custom player - one of the most important elements of the project. We spent a lot of time on its well-thought-out implementation. 📻 

The Player consists of several hundred hours of music co-created by producers and artists from around the world.

Search from a thousand songs!

Define the mood, genre and purpose of the music you want to use. The advanced search engine also has the option of selecting the tempo of the song and instruments. 🔍

The amount of good music in Closer Music is constantly growing, and that's because they are constantly looking for talented composers and musicians. The base features songs of both rising stars and famous bands. 🎙️

Closer Music has the option to build your own playlist according to your musical preferences. 🎛️

Mobile version

The mobile version of the website should be as attractive as the home page. When designing the mobile version, we paid attention to the ease of movement of the user on the website and the readability of the content. Choosing fonts and color palettes in advance made this task easier for us.

Adding functionality, buttons, sliders in the right places helps to save space, and thus does not have a negative impact on the perception of using the platform. 📱
