Crystal Series 02 / Pillar

The second in my Crystal Series, 02 / Pillar. Fascinated with geometry, I created this hexagonal crystal and colored it with deep purples and saturated pinks.

This is the render I made from 3ds Max as a base for this crystal. I played with the field of vision in the render setting before I made the final render to create a bit more depth. I had to play around for a very long time before I found a view that I wanted to use for the final piece. I couldn't find a happy medium between having enough depth of field and still having a glimps of the bottom facets. I have an extremely basic knowledge of this software, but I'm learning as I venture into this new land of 3D design.
