Baklava is a national culinary heritage that exceeds the standards of a dessert item. It is a staple for celebrations,
gatherings, hospitality and gift-giving, and a true cultural icon across Turkey. Of all the local pastries that prepare this delicacy, the Güllü family stores are recognized as the most established and rightfully so.

The Güllü family opened the first baklava store in Gaziantep in 1871, the homeland of this syrupy pastry. For six generations they finessed their technique, grew their business across the region and became the leader of an industry they originated. This year, they decided to launch a new channel dedicated to their culinary expertise and rich heritage. Our task was to develop this new-generation baklava brand from the ground-up, from strategy and name to visual identity, packaging and all branded assets.
Our strategy focused on creating a brand that could claim both the history and future of baklava in its entirety, a hub that meets generations of expertise with innovation and experience. As such, we named the brand “Altıncı Kuşak” (Sixth Generation) to represent the accumulation of knowledge, technique and passion that drives this initiative. Knowing we were building a new heritage brand, we made sure to incorporate the baklava tradition and its native land in every detail of our visual world.
We drew from the arches of the classical Gaziantep buildings, from the colors of baklava’s main ingredients, and from baklava's wafered, layered structure to create patterns. The result was a true Gaziantep brand that embodied one of Turkey’s most precious cultural icons.
